I began writing songs with Fred during the summer of 2021 at the tail end of the COVID-19 lockdown. However, I would say that the lion’s share of our writing was accomplished during the summer months of 2021 and 2022 as our respective jobs allow us downtime during the summer breaks.

 

Here’s what I find to be the unique part of the experience:

These songs were written, recorded and mixed solely via email. None of the collaboration was done in person.

 

For example, I would record a verse and chorus of a song idea on an acoustic guitar and email it to Fred. He would send it back to me with a vocal track and some drums added. I would then add bass and lead guitar. This process still continues to this day even though the lockdown ended some time ago.

 

By the fall of 2022 we found that we had demos for about 30 songs. We chose these 10 as our first album because they are a pretty good cross-section of Americana, Rock, Country, Blues and even Ska.

 

This project began during a very dark period for me when live music was totally shut down.

I needed a distraction, some relief. I had a lot of pent-up music inside of me, and this was the opportunity to let it out. Now that these songs are finally seeing the light of day, I am filled with so much joy. I hope it brings some joy to you as well.
